Medical Precaution

At Casa Chaikoni we use and practice the traditional ancestral Shipibo-Konibo herbal medicine that was taught to healer Isabel Pinedo Rengifo by her father and his family.

The first contact with you will be by email and you will be sent a health questionnaire to find out more about you, your health and your medical history. It is important that you complete this honestly, without hiding any information. The success of your treatment and your recovery depends on this.

In some rare cases we may not be able to accept you. Casa Chaikoni reserves the right to refuse participation in ayahuasca ceremonies.

On your arrival, during an initial consultation with Isabel, she will begin to look at your energy to determine your treatment, which will then be adjusted and completed according to the information Isabel sees during the ceremony.

In some cases, the herbal treatment Isabel prescribes may or may not include an ayahuasca ceremony. It may be that the plants need to work without regular ayahuasca intake (often at the beginning), or that the ceremonies would be too energetically strong for the guest, so it is better to be patient.

It's important to understand that not telling to the Casa Chaikoni staff about any medical conditions you may be suffering from, or any other herbal treatments or medications you may be taking, can have a direct impact on your treatment and healing.

Taking a treatment other than that of the healer Isabel is not necessarily incompatible, as long as Isabel is informed.

In certain cases, if it is not possible for you to stop taking a course of medication, Isabel will adjust the herbal treatment accordingly, adjusting the healing energies so that none of them are disturbed and so that your treatment takes place in perfect conditions.

It may be a good idea to consult your GP for any specific medical questions you may have. (Be careful though, as some doctors are completely opposed to herbal treatments).
