The Center
The Casa Chaikoni center was founded in 2024 by Maestra Curendera Isabel Pinedo Rengifo, in association with Philippe Favre, who has been deeply involved in medicine for many years. They met in 2017 when Philippe and Marie (his wife) were looking for a healer to continue their care and teachings with plants.
They decided to join forces to create the Casa Chaikoni center, with the possibility of buying land in the Allpahuayo-Mishana reserve, located at km22 of the Iquitos-Nauta road in the Peruvian Amazon.
Construction of the centre began in 2024, and more photos will be added as construction progresses.
At the moment, the centre can accommodate a small number of people and the facilities are sufficient for everyone's wellbeing.
In the end, the centre will have a maloca for 15 peoples, several bungalows with private toilets and showers, a kitchen and dining room for meals, a relaxation house with several hammocks, a library, a yoga room, a natural swimming pool fed by spring water, a large medicinal garden, photovoltaic panels used for the centre's amenities.
Additionally, the center seeks to integrate sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, working collaboratively with local communities to share knowledge and strengthen Amazonian culture. As the project grows, Casa Chaikoni is expected to become a benchmark for traditional medicine and ecological practices in the region, attracting people from around the world interested in an authentic and transformative experience. Isabel, with her vast experience and wisdom, will guide the ceremonies and therapeutic sessions, while Philippe will coordinate logistical activities and manage the expansion of the center. Together, they are determined to make Casa Chaikoni a place where body, mind and spirit can find harmony and rejuvenation in the heart of the Amazon
The centre is currently entirely self-financed by Isabel and Philippe, but if you would like to help with the construction and participate in this project, please contact us by email or make a donation directly in the contact menu.
What's "Chaikoni"
The Chaikonis are people, invisible beings who show themselves when they want to. They bear a striking resemblance to the ancient Shipibo Konibos and wear traditional painted or embroidered clothing.
Their presence is subtle, often perceived as a whisper in the wind or a fleeting movement among the shadows of the forest. Despite their invisibility, their influence is deeply felt by those who are receptive to their energy. Healers, in particular, see them as valuable allies in the traitement of people. Their age-old wisdom is transmitted through sacred songs and rituals. The Chaikonis, guardians of ancestral traditions, preserve harmony between the physical and spiritual world. Their role is essential in maintaining the balance and health of Shipibo communities. With their guidance, healers can navigate the unseen dimensions, bringing comfort and healing to those in need. The link between the Chaikonis and the Shipibo-konibo is a living testimony to the richness and depth of this Amazonian culture, a heritage that resists the passage of time and external influences.

Botanic Garden
The Casa Chaikoni site is home to a multitude of medicinal plants growing on the property, spread throughout the center. We are planning to create a vast garden of medicinal plants, these being the basis of the treatments, it's very important for us to have them with us as much as possible. This allows us to guarantee the quality of our remedies, from harvesting to preparation. At any time, everyone will be able to get closer to the plants, pray with them, ask for their help and maintain a constant link with them.
This garden will be a space of discovery and sharing, where visitors will be able to learn about the healing properties of each plant, their stories and their traditional uses. In addition to serving as an essential resource for our treatments, this garden will be a sanctuary of peace and contemplation, inviting everyone to reconnect with nature and appreciate the ancestral wisdom that resides in these plants. We hope this space will inspire respect and preservation of these natural treasures, while reinforcing our commitment to the holistic health and well-being of our community.
Some of these plants are described in the Ayahuasca and medicinal plants menu.
